I have a County Court Judgement against Lancasters Property Services and Lettings Limited (trading as LPS Lettings) for £9,189.
It is proving difficult to enforce the CCJ. The business no longer operates from Hungate Lane. A Third Party Debt order to LPS’s bank has shown that the company’s bank account is overdrawn. Other creditors have not been paid- in particular the electrical subcontractor who worked on my flat. He is owed over £1,000 by LPS.
I found LPS through their website www.lpslettings.co.uk I paid LPS a total of £42,000 including, reluctantly, £12,000 in advance for “turn key”renovations of my flat. The flat was left without a kitchen, doors, bath, or shower; undecorated and with significant work, including electrics, incomplete. The work that was done has subsequently proved, in spite of the sole director Matthew Lancaster’s assurances that he knew about the requirements for planning regulations, to not comply. I will need to pay for significant remedial work to sort this out. Requests for details of the company insurance to allow me to claim for negligence have been ignored.
In January 2014, I received an email from Lindsey Lancaster, the director’s wife saying that LPS Lettings was her sole trader business “as from August 2013. A website with email addresses and also some goodwill customers and contracts was purchased from Lancasters Property Services and Lettings limited at this time”
