As riding schools go, Rocklane is one of the more quirky of our local riding centres. But don't be fooled by first impressions, nor get put off by the centre's love for eccentricity. The riding instruction provided there is pretty darn impressive and, the riding school ponies are of a much higher standard than one would normally expect from a riding school.
I first went to Rocklane for help to regain my confidence in the saddle, having had a few hiccups with my green pony, which was gradually chipping away at my self-esteem. Admittedly, my initial reaction to Rocklane was a bit negative. But, before I was even halfway through my first lesson there I realised that this riding school was exactly the right place for me to help me regain my 'saddle-mojo'. Within a few weeks, my confidence had soared which, in turn, has had a very positive effect on my relationship with my own pony. But the greatest asset this riding school bestows is an instructor who's passion - not only for horses but also, genuinely wanting to forward his knowledge of this sport on to his students, is second to none. You would have to go a long way to find that elsewhere to be honest.
So, as quirky and ‘left-of-centre’ as this riding school may be, if you seriously want to improve your horsemanship, no matter what level you are or what you want to achieve, then Rocklane is definitely worth a try.
