I took my car to this garage for an oil change. They broke my sump in the process and tried to charge me £400 to fix it. I went elsewhere and got it done for £50. Imagine going to a garage for a service, bringing back a car that is leaking oil and being asked for a big sum of money to fix their mistake.

I took my car to My Purple Garage as I had a running issue. They diagnosed it, got the part in and the car ran perfectly afterwards.
Very happy with service and will use again.

Took my car for an MOT. A sensor in the engine failed whilst on the ramp, this caused the fuse for the ECU to blow, as it should. I was asked to remove the vehicle and whilst on the forecourt of the garage the MOT tester suggested putting a 20 amp fuse in place of the 15amp one that blew.

This is something I would never have done, but bowing to superior experience, I did. This caused too much current to flow through the faulty circuits, damaging wiring looms and destroying the ECU (~£1000 to replace from Honda).

Having repaired the damaged wiring looms I asked them for some assistance fixing the ECU, which they are partially responsible for damaging. I would have been happy with a trade price on the repairs to the ECU. They were quite rude a refused to admit anything. So much for excellent customer service.

Don't be overwhelmed by the smiles and the doughnuts. Shop around to find the best quotes or better still ask for recommendations from friends with experience in the trade. Ignore any 5 star ratings and check out all the bad ones, that's where the real Customer Service is i.e. Non-existent!

I called a mechanic friend for advice on good garages in the area, he works at a motor factor close to MPG. He said that MPG are repeatedly ordering the wrong parts and often have to return incorrect items.
