I'm only awarding a star for the simple fact that the stylist who did my hair, did so professionally and with care. She was friendly and experienced. So for this I can't complain. The rest of my experience was dire.
I booked a trial for my bridal hair and make up, although my hair was not a problem, I was informed that the beautician they would normally use was scheduled to be away on the date of my wedding- with this in mind they booked me with someone else.
I turned up for my trial and was met by the beautician who is unavailable in July. I told her I had come for my trial and was greeted with a rude and abrupt ''Not with me you're not''
How charming. Silly of me to assume you'd want to charm a bride and potential customer!
I sat down for my hair and as previously stated, was happy with the results and service.
When it was time for my make up trial, I was informed that the lady they'd booked me with was ''trained, but not qualified'' to do make up and that the owner would not allow it. Why was I booked with her then? I'm not a high maintenance bride, if she's good at what she does, that'd of been good enough for me. The owner refused and went on to detail how I could buy 'mineral make up in Debenhams, but make sure you go outside and test it under the natural light because they use fluorescents'
What? I'm not interested in any of this. Do you seriously think I have time for this? I have my own make up at home and don't need anymore. What is this achieving?
I told the owner i wouldn't be using the salon unless I could get both hair and make up done as I don't want to have to travel between salons on my wedding day. She enthusiastically took my name and number and informed me that she had a few people she would contact to see if they would come to the salon to do my hair and make up. Promising me she'd call by the end of the day.
She's not contacted me since. Which shows cowardice, and a distinct lack of basic people skills and customer service. I will not be returning. And urge all customers, particularly brides-to-be to stay clear! They don't seem to appreciate this is the happiest time of your life that should be as stress free as possible! Crap salon.
