Extremely shocked and disappointed, we booked our forthcoming wedding breakfast for July 2014 and met Arabella personally last summer. We both attended a planned food tasting session, chose our menu and paid a £200.00 deposit once signing a contract.We were reassured that this would NOT need to include a 20% VAT, a great saving too we thought !!!
All sorted one would think... Wrong, in March 2014 late one evening we received an email to say she would not now be available to attend our wedding as she had " A LARGER WEDDING FOR A VERY PRESTIGIOUS COUPLE " ( her words, shocking) that she needed to attend on that day. Apparently this PRESTIGIOUS couple had rearranged their wedding date from June to July 2014, so she offered to arrange for one of her chefs to help out on the day at our wedding and attend the other...HOW INSULTING WE WERE OBVIOUSLY NOT IMPORTANT AND NOT PHEASANTS EITHER!!
That's not all we were also informed would we would also now need to pay VAT even though she reassured us that this would not be the case....
It was obvious from the email she did not now want our booking and offered our deposit back.
Kick in the teeth doubly and insulting, not trustworthy at all beware as in our opinion low morals and values towards her clients.
