I strongly recommend to avoid this company. I list the reasons below. I paid for the 35 hour intensive course with the practical test included, which cost £812. The actual tuition is said to cost £735. The instructor I had was Allan Bishop who is also the director of Kwikpass.

1) *After* paying my initial deposit, I was told that I would have to pay an extra £200 deposit within the next day, despite it being advertised that the remaining fee is paid on the day that the course starts.

2) At one point, the instructor randomly told me to stop the car for 10-15 minutes in order to show me evidence of his certification and talk about how he is in the top tier of driving instructors, and how hard this is to achieve. It's nice that I'm paying to sit and hear from the instructor about how great he is, instead of actually driving.

3) The instructor made us stop every day for a 15 minute break or so. This is said to be important to help you get some air and stretch your legs, and I don't necessarily disagree. However, it also comes out of your own time. As the tuition is over £20 an hour, this is not a negligible amount of money.

4) If you sweat (which I imagine is common due to nerves and heat), expect to be degraded by being made to sit on some random quilt from his boot that he lays down for you on the seat. Most people would consider this quite rude, but the instructor apparently didn't.

5) If you make a mistake, expect to be called an idiot, or spoken to in a condescending manner. This instructor's idea of helping you learn from mistakes is to berate you repeatedly. Depending on how you respond to this, it might help I suppose. For me it resulted in anger and then further mistakes (resulting in more aggression from the instructor).

6) After 23 hours of tuition like this, I had had enough of being spoken to and treated in such a manner, and found that the lessons were more tedious than enjoyable. I resigned myself to forfeiting 5 hours of tuition (£100 worth) which I had the following day (and I expected no such refund for it). However I asked for a refund on the remaining 7 hours and the test (working out at about £220), which were *over* 3 weeks away (and over a month away for the test). I was told that no refunds are given under any circumstances (i.e. "because we can").

I made the argument that there are several weeks notice, so I didn't understand why the money couldn't be refunded, I was told that I would be contacted with a decision in time. After weeks of ignoring my messages (which were directly to the mobile number), I was told that "after much consideration" (which apparently took weeks), I would be refunded £100.

The remaining money has been kept by the company. No reasonable justification as to why this is (other than "it is our policy") has been given. This is not too surprising as it took several messages over a period of weeks to get any sort of response.

Once again, I strongly urge anyone reading this to avoid this company. You need to pay up front, and then if you have any sort of problem with the course or the instructor, you are in a very weak position. Combine this with what I consider to be a poor attitude and questionable business practices, and you are better off finding an independent instructor and paying per lesson.
