I very much regret using DDH to replace my gas boiler last year.

Despite the claims on their website, Facebook page and elsewhere, DDH are NOT a Worcester-Bosch Accredited Installer, NOT a Which? Trusted Trader, and NOT registered with F-Gas. Their widespread claim to be a ‘Platinum Worcester Accredited Installer which allows us to offer up to 10 years guarantee’ is not correct. My new boiler developed a series of faults soon after installation, all due to due to poor workmanship. When it failed completely, bringing the water to the boil unless I turned it off, DDH promised to contact the maker, but didn’t. I phoned Worcester-Bosch myself and learnt the boiler had not been registered with them, even though this is essential for the warranty. I had to arrange for Worcester-Bosch to send engineers to fix the problem and to validate the 5-year guarantee.

The Complaints Policy on the DDH website gives a non-existent email address and a postal address which is not that of the registered company. It promises a response to complaints within 3 working days but after a month I still have no reply to my letters, emails or phone calls. And as for using the Dispute Resolution Ombudsman at Which? Trusted Trader, which is mentioned in their Complaints Policy, DDH are actually on its published list of businesses falsely claiming membership.

The Lancashire County Council Trading Standards Service are investigating DDH and confirm that the firm is not included in their Safe Trader scheme.

I wish that I had known any of this before I chose DDH to install my new boiler. At least I can warn other potential customers. Margaret Williamson.
